The 2am problem
It’s 2am. A disk you’d forgotten about fills up, writes start failing, and the first you hear of it is a support email at nine. On Friday an SSL certificate lapses and checkout quietly breaks over the weekend. Failed logins stack up at 4am — but nobody reads logs at 4am. You can’t sit and watch all of it at once.
